These two paintings form the “From Somewhere to Nowhere” series are dedicated to fire. The message is simple, and by the reactions I got from the visitors on the exhibition, pretty self-explanatory.
I’ve painted on hand-sewn, old canvases using natural pigments and acrylic base.

My solo exhibition “From Somewhere to Nowhere” was finally opened at U10 gallery in Belgrade!
As you may know, I’ve been working on it for a while now.  All of the exhibited artworks are made using natural materials including hand-sewn canvases  (some of which are over 100 years of age), natural pigments and wood. Some of the exhibited artworks that you can see on these photos from the opening night are Milkmaid and the Dog, Babushka sets and polyptich.
The exhibition is opened until 18^th of May in Belgrade, and I would like to invite everybody to take a look and share the impressions. More info about the address and opening hours of the gallery can be found at U10’s official website.

All these series of artworks contain many memories, experiences from my childhood, things I like, think and dream about. Sometimes I think that they say much more than I’d truly like to say myself.
Among other artworks here are ‘Four Riders’ (not of the Apocalypse), ‘Horse Rider and the Girl in Blue’ and ‘Angel’.
For these series of artworks named ‘From Somewhere to Nowhere’ I’ve used natural pigments and painted mostly on cardboard, but a couple of them are painted on the wooden board.

This part of ‘From Somewhere to Nowhere’ contains, among other artworks, two self-portraits. First one of me trying to squeeze myself through the funnel, and the second one with my dog running around and distracting me while I’m reading.
On the next painting we have someone who resembles a priest wearing Adidas sneakers, and a couple of other artworks are related to flying Capricorn (who is actually half-bird), and there are 2 versions of the same artwork named “Capricorn and the Flying Head”.
For this polyptych I’ve used paper, wood and cardboard, and painted with acrylics on it.

Few days ago to my happiness I found a ‘Group of Death – Football zine’ in my mailbox. As you can see, this zine is a tribute to the most popular sport in the world – football.
Me and my football players play this game in football jersey no. 09 for the Rovers team. Each football team is made of 11 authors/artists with totally different style of drawing/illustration, and I like it a lot.

Such a great football game!

During the 2011 I’ve created an artwork for the group exhibition of ‘The Laser Summit of Cheap Graphics – Art Until the End’. It was a big, well-attended exhibition in Belgrade and I’ve really enjoyed it and had a great time.
The final version of this project resulted in this book with published artworks from all artists, some info graphics, etc. My artwork was also published in this interesting issue.

The Milkmaid and the Dog is one of the paintings from my newest series I’m still working on. The painting depicts some of the moments from my private life and the things I’m thinking about and observing around me. The big part of this painting are memories from my early childhood, too. I choose each part carefully and had a great time painting it.
I think that my new color palette is richer and more interesting than some of my older ones since I’ve been using natural pigments. The other interesting thing about this series is that it is painted on a really old hand-stitched fabric, which also contributes to the somewhat rustic look of these pieces.

Here are several more artworks from the new polyptych I’m working on. As I’ve mentioned before, these segments are like a puzzle, you have the good and the bad side, happiness, tragedy, unidentified characters, animals, nightmares, nature, mist, etc. I must say that this is the mere result of the things I feel, pay attention to, think about, listen…
I’ve painted these with acrylics on cardboard. I guess you can get the point from each artwork easily, they are rather self-explanatory.

These new artworks involve a couple of different topics as you can see. For me it is like a puzzle, the result of what I watch, read, think, search for, etc. Different styles of architecture, love and misfortune, pointless moments of life and autumn are here as reflections our life experiences. These artworks are one small part of a new polyptych that I’m working on these days. It will be shown on my next solo exhibition. I’ve painted with acrylics on cardboard.
